BLOWING OF TRUMPETS

WHAT THIS DAY IS ABOUT

The Feast of Trumpets was a day when they blew the trumpet(shofar) to prepare the people for the coming day of the atonement. It was also blown to warn people of danger and sometimes to prepare for battle.

HOW WE CELEBRATE THIS DAY

The observance of the Holy Day begins with a Holy Convocation, where the faithful gather to honor the Most High in reverence and unity. This gathering serves as a spiritual reaffirmation of our commitment to His covenant and a celebration of His enduring presence in our lives.

Spiritual preparation is essential as we approach this sacred occasion. We should engage in prayer and reflection, seeking the guidance of the Most High. The atmosphere is one of solemnity and joy, acknowledging the significance of the trumpet's sound in our history—the call to worship, remembrance, and divine intervention.

During the feast, we partake in a communal meal that reflects our gratitude and love for the Most High. Traditional foods, rich in symbolism, are shared among family and friends, embodying the blessings bestowed upon us. Each dish serves as a reminder of our heritage and the protection granted to us as the children of Israel.

In addition to feasting, we dedicate time to read and meditate upon Scripture, particularly passages that recount the sounding of trumpets in the assemblies of Israel. This reinforces our community's bond and reminds us of the power and importance of remembering our history and the mighty acts of salvation performed by the Most High.

As we conclude the Holy Day, we sound the trumpets ourselves, invoking the spirit of commemoration and invoking the divine protection that accompanies our faith. It is through these sacred observances that we reaffirm our identity and relationship with the Most High, celebrating His everlasting care and providence.
